About our Community

Holy Family Inclusive Catholic Community was established on June 8, 2014. Pastor Mary Keldermans was ordained by the Roman Catholic Womenpriests-USA, Inc. order on May 3, 2014. Shortly following this Rev. Mary received a letter of excommunication from the Bishop of the Springfield Diocese. Despite this turn of events, the community held mass every other week at Congregational Church-UCC in Jacksonville, Illinois. It was not long before the community began celebrating mass weekly in this location. The community continued to worship in Jacksonville until 2016, when they took the leap of faith to establish their own worship space in Springfield, Illinois. Mass was held for the first time at 510 E. Apple Orchard Rd. on March 26, 2016. On November 23, 2019, the community relocated to a new, larger facility at 2939 Stanton St.

Today, Holy Family Inclusive Catholic Community continues to celebrate mass weekly, welcoming all to the table regardless of race, religion, creed, marital status, sexual orientation, or sexual identity. Once you attend, you are considered part of our Holy Family!  Holy Family is where all families are considered holy.
